Whatever the cosmos is trying to tell me...PBS is responsible

So this isn't so much arty related as just straight up weirdness that I felt should be documented.

So, last night I'm dreaming my weird dreams (which have been way more fragmented lately, I'm thinking cause of increased activity) and during one part I'm in class and everyone's sitting around casually talking about our next project.

My teacher looks at me, he's sitting on the edge of a desk infront of me, "So," he says, "What are you gonna pick?"

I'm leaning back in my chair at my own desk and I say to him, "Oh, no contest, Thomas the tank engine." Everybody laughs a little bit and so does he but he nods his head too, "Ok. That's fine."

Now I'm not sure if any of you remember Thomas the Tank Engine but he's from a little show on PBS called shining time station. Here's a photo for posterity.

And what a weird fucking show it was, it seems boring as fuck and honestly it probably was, a whole children's show revolving around a fucking train station. But whatever I loved it, and with George Carlin as "Mr. Conductor." oh my god...fantastic. I cannot tell you what it is like to have grown up watching this slow-paced stop-motion/live action train educational programming with George Carlin in the morning, then see the same man, doing his stand up on HBO in the evening. Maybe that explains a little of why I am the way I am...huh.

Anyway the how reason for bringing up Thomas the Tank Engine is because as I'm walking home from tending to my responsibilities at my friend Sara's house (Sara lives five minutes down the street, has three cats, a lot of plants, and is currently in Virginia competing in a sailing tournament so I am taking care of her shiznit until Sun.) As I'm walking I notice something on the brick wall of the building to my left.

It's a sticker, the back end has been tore off a bit but you can still tell what it is...

It's Thomas the Tank Engine...

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN COSMOS?

Once you see it, you can't UN-see it...

So yes, I've been slacking, what else is new?

Well since last posting I had an art show @ the Flat Iron art studios on Milwaukee. That was awesome. Meet a lot of very cool artists and people a like, saw really nice work, meet some guys making monster wheel big wheels for adults. One of the founders, Jay Bee, offered to teach me to weld and what not. That was cool. That weekend I took him up on his offer and got this sweet ass UV burn...

I know...you're jealous. My arm is healed for the most part, I'm through the "skin of a sixty year old beach dog" phase and am fastly moving into the "oh god my skin my skin it's falling off, my skin" phase.

Also: Went to Threadless HQ with mentor group and met Mig Reyes, one of the leading designers of the company. Very cool guy and even cooler company/work space. If you've never heard of them (I doubt) you should look into it @ threadless.com also check out humblepie.com a really good website Mig started where designers give video interviews about...well everything. Very good.

But art shows and skin frying aside I've also been trying to get through the last couple of weeks of school. No easy task, especially since I running out of patience faster then...well let's just say REALLY fucking fast.

But no worries, there are many things to look forward to and this semester will be a thing of the past within days. Ye-haw!  Check out one of my not-so-lame projects...

It's FLAP JACK!!! I had fun with this, I also did one of ren and stimpy but I have to find the original image I based their skeletons off before I can post that one...soon to come!

that is all...
